Upcoming relaxing first-person game Spray Paint Simulator seems pretty darn satisfying. I’ve previously described it as PowerWash Simulator (which I am slightly obsessed with), but in reverse: instead of spraying water, you’re spraying paint! Players will soon be able to start their own business and become the best spray painter that the town has ever seen, as Spray Paint Simulator will be released toward the end of this month (May 2025).
The town of Splatterville needs a makeover, and its citizens need your help to transform their items from drab to fab. In Story Mode, you’ll paint everything from rooms and homes to cars and bridges… even giant robots! Meet with an eccentric group of clients who will pay for your painting expertise. Start each job from the very beginning, prepping the space to deliver the best results before choosing the right colours and painting to perfection. Use ladders, scaffolding, and more (I believe someone mentioned a cherry picker?) to reach difficult areas. You can upgrade your tools, vehicles, and equipment.
From a press release, the key features of Spray Paint Simulator include:
- Enjoy an easy, relaxing gameplay experience without time limits or complex gameplay mechanics.
- Explore an assortment of colours to paint with; the final result is up to your artistic eye.
- Grow your business and keep your clients happy in Story Mode by meeting the “unique” community of Spatterville, taking on tasks, and working to become the top painter in town!
- Unlock Free Spray Mode and play solo or co-operatively with a friend, and make the town your canvas — let your creativity run wild.
- Get the full painting experience, starting with prep work such as fixing and removing objects, masking the area, selecting your paint, and painting each object to meet your customer’s expectations.
- Manage your consumables and acquire new items to suit each task, including spray tools, battery power, vehicles, paints, scaffolding, and more.
“We are so excited to be able to share Spray Paint Simulator with players very soon,” said Nick Jefferson-Tame, Lead Artist and Creative Director at North Star Video Games, in the press release. “The support we’ve received from players during development has been wonderful, and their feedback invaluable. It’s been amazing to see how they’ve taken to the game, and they’ve given us excellent thoughts on how we can make the game its best at launch. We can’t wait for everyone to see the full game in just a few short weeks.”
An updated demo for Spray Paint Simulator is now available via Steam. It has been polished to make it more representative of the first two levels, plus bug fixes and updated language support.
Developed by North Star Video Games and published by Whitethorn Games, Spray Paint Simulator will be released for PC via Steam/Microsoft, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One on May 29. The game will launch a few weeks later for Nintendo Switch on June 19.
